Dreamina can help adapt an existing Black Friday visual to a new composition, but a generated image is different from an editable advertising layout. To avoid starting over, keep the approved product, offer, dates, colors and message, then reuse those assets in each required size. An editable master usually gives you more direct control over exact wording and placement.
You will still need to adjust the arrangement. Turning a square ad into a vertical or wide version changes the available space; simply stretching the image distorts the product, while shrinking everything can make important text unreadable.
The goal is to preserve the campaign's content and identity while making a usable version for each placement. Start by checking what kind of source file you have.
- Choose a route that matches the source
- 1. Save the master and fix the campaign content
- 2. List the target sizes before editing
- 3. Adapt a flat visual in Dreamina
- 4. Reuse editable elements in Canva
- 5. Use Adobe Express Resize when eligible
- Check access before choosing the workflow
- Finish each version at its actual display size
Choose a route that matches the source
Use Dreamina to explore a new composition, then a layout editor to keep the campaign copy easy to update. Treat each placement as its own design: the visual direction stays connected, while product position, text size and spacing adapt to the canvas.
1. Save the master and fix the campaign content
Duplicate the original before changing dimensions. Keep a separate master with the product image, headline, discount, dates, logo, colors and any necessary terms available for reuse.
For a flat JPEG or PNG, look for the editable project that created it. If you cannot recover it, collect the original product image and exact wording before making new versions. Retyping verified text is often more dependable than repeatedly regenerating an entire advertisement.
For a flat image, try the least disruptive change first. If there is spare background, crop it while keeping the product and every required text line visible. If the target needs more space, place the artwork on a larger canvas and add a simple compatible background, or recover the product and text as separate elements. Generated expansion is useful for some backgrounds, but inspect any new objects, shadows and repeated patterns.
If cropping would remove the offer or stretching would change the product, stop treating the file as one block. Rebuild the arrangement from the existing assets. You are changing the layout while retaining the campaign's content, rather than inventing a new campaign.
Our existing examples use a fictional tote campaign with four fixed text elements:
- WEEKEND CARRY
- 20% OFF
- NOV 27–30, 2026
- FICTIONAL DEMO
These are demonstration details, not a real promotion. For your own campaign, use approved dates, terms and pricing. Put the exact wording into editable text layers wherever possible.
If the original campaign still needs to be created, follow making Black Friday ads from a product photo first. Resizing works better once the message and source assets are settled.
2. List the target sizes before editing
Write down the placements you actually need and check their current specifications. Do not assume every platform uses the same dimensions or interface overlays.
For a practical working set, you might prepare a square, a vertical version and a wide version. Our existing manual examples exported 1080 × 1920 and 1920 × 1080 files. Those are the sizes used in this case, not universal requirements for all advertising placements.
Make a small layout plan for each:
Keep the product proportional. Moving or scaling the original element is different from stretching it to fill the canvas. Check the placement preview for real interface obstructions and cropping.
3. Adapt a flat visual in Dreamina
If the starting point is a flattened image, use it as a reference and describe the new arrangement. Specify the exact text, the product that should remain recognizable, the intended ratio and the location of each content group.
Here is the original generated square visual from the fictional campaign:
This is a flattened campaign image. Its displayed text and product are part of the image, rather than separately editable layout elements.
A brief for a vertical adaptation could say:
Adapt the reference campaign to a vertical composition. Keep the four approved text strings and the cream, indigo and terracotta palette. Place the headline and offer in the upper area, the tote in the center and the date and disclosure below. Keep the full tote visible and leave space around every text block.
The instruction communicates the intended change. It cannot guarantee exact wording, unchanged product pixels or compliance with a placement's safe area.
The campaign’s vertical adaptation gives the product more prominence and reserves a clearer space for its four text groups. A focused revision made those groups readable at a 360-pixel-wide preview:
The revised portrait composition brings the campaign message into a clear reading order. Move the small disclosure farther from the bottom edge when finishing the placement.
Finish the small text separately for each format. A landscape layout may need different line breaks, a larger footer and more contrast than the portrait version, even when the headline and product scene stay the same.
When exact copy keeps failing, move the artwork into an editable layout and add verified text there. Avoid generating the whole product again merely to correct a date or move a disclaimer.
4. Reuse editable elements in Canva
Dreamina can supply or adapt the visual. Canva offers another route when the ad already has separately editable elements: reuse the product image and text, then rearrange them on a canvas with the target dimensions.
This square master was assembled with an editable product image, text and design elements:
Work from a duplicate. Create the destination canvas, transfer the approved elements and adjust their arrangement. Keep the headline, discount, date and disclosure as text; keep the product image proportional and avoid cropping off handles or the base.
The existing Free-account work used manual copying and rearrangement. It did not test paid Magic Resize or demonstrate automatic multi-format conversion.
This 1080 × 1920 layout uses the original product element with editable campaign text, arranged for a narrow viewing area.
For the wide version, move the product to one side and let the message occupy the other. Reflow lines and spacing instead of reducing every element together.
The 1920 × 1080 version keeps the full product and the campaign’s four text groups. Give the supporting information more room when preparing a small-display version.
The case shows what manual reuse can preserve.
5. Use Adobe Express Resize when eligible
Dreamina's adaptation and Canva's manual arrangement can be useful at different stages. If you use Adobe Express Premium, its current page-resizing instructions document a separate workflow:
- 1
- Open the project and select Resize. 2
- Choose a preset or enter custom width and height with the appropriate units. 3
- Select Duplicate & Resize to preserve the original version. 4
- Review the resized page and its element placement. 5
- If generated expansion is unwanted, leave Expand image unchecked. When using that option, review the variations before keeping one.
Changing the page size does not eliminate the need to review the design. Check line breaks, image cropping and the space around essential information.
Adobe Express Resize handles selected pages and formats rather than converting an entire multipage campaign into every placement at once. Use separate copies for each destination so you can refine the layout and copy independently.
Check access before choosing the workflow
Price and eligibility examples checked on October 22, 2026:
Choose the workflow that saves the right kind of effort. Manual duplication and text reflow are useful for a small campaign; generative recomposition helps when a new format calls for a different scene arrangement.

Finish each version at its actual display size
Compare the exports with the approved master. Check the offer, dates, disclosure and logo, then inspect the product, colors and full composition. Ensure every target file has the intended dimensions and no accidental stretching.
Review small text at the width the audience will actually see. A date that is readable on a large editing canvas can disappear in a feed. Check the placement's current guides and preview rather than applying the fictional campaign's 10% rule everywhere.
Keep the editable master and name each version by campaign, placement and dimensions. Export only the variants that meet their purpose, retaining any unresolved candidate separately. This lets you update the offer once in the source material and adapt the existing system, instead of rebuilding the campaign from memory.
For a larger designed promotion, making an AI poster connects the same message hierarchy to another format. Carry over the verified content and assets, then make the arrangement suit the new viewing context.
