Dreamina Recreate: Give your video a new direction

Give a reference video a new direction with Dreamina Recreate. Transfer movement, replace a selected element, or adapt a creative idea to your own character or product. Bring a video and reference images, then choose the mode that fits your edit. Model availability varies by account and region.

  • Copy and paste a Motion Transfer brief

Motion Transfer: Use my uploaded 16:9 dance video as the movement reference and my character photo as the visual reference. Rebuild the scene around the adult character in a cobalt jacket and cream trousers, in a sunlit studio. Follow the source performance, camera movement, and timing. Keep the source duration and aspect ratio. Prioritize readable full-body movement, natural hands, and coherent lighting. Add no text, logos, or watermark.

  • Copy and paste an Object Swap brief

Object Swap: In my uploaded 16:9 product video, replace only the bottle on the stone table with the coral bottle shown in my reference images. Match its silhouette, lid, material, scale, and placement to those references. Preserve the original person, hand movement, background, camera path, lighting, and timing as closely as possible. Follow the source duration and aspect ratio. Do not introduce another bottle or add text, logos, or watermark.

  • Copy and paste a Creative Recreate brief

Creative Recreate: Adapt the floating-product reveal concept in my uploaded 16:9 reference video to the emerald skincare jar in my product images. Reinterpret the visual elements and shot organization around the jar, botanical leaves, and clear water. Use a pale mint setting and premium studio lighting. Keep the concept recognizable while allowing the scene to fit the new product. Follow the source duration and aspect ratio. Add no text, product claims, logos, or watermark.

Three modes give your reference video a different role: guide the movement, anchor a targeted replacement, or inspire a fresh interpretation.

Motion Transfer: carry the performance into a new visual world

Start with a reference video whose movement you want to reuse, then add images showing the character, setting, or overall look you want to create. Motion Transfer is designed to follow the source action, camera movement, and timing while rebuilding the visuals around your references. That makes it useful when a performance or camera move is the starting point for your new version. A dance can be performed by an original character, or an existing movement can guide a scene with a different visual treatment. Use references that clearly show the intended subject and review the result for pose, contact, framing, and timing. For fresh visual references, explore Dreamina’s AI Image Generator.

Object Swap: focus the edit on a person, product, or scene element

Choose Object Swap when the shot already works and you want to change a specific part of it. Supply the original clip and reference images for the replacement, then name the person, outfit, product, location, or object to change. The mode is designed to target that element while preserving the surrounding video, making it useful for product variants, wardrobe changes, and alternative casting or settings. Be explicit about what should stay: the other people, background, camera movement, lighting, or action. Check edges, shadows, hand contact, and occlusion after generation; targeted editing is a creative workflow, not a guarantee that every untouched pixel will be identical. Explore the broader AI video-to-video workflow for other restyling needs.

Creative Recreate: adapt the idea to your own subject or product

Use Creative Recreate when the idea behind a video matters more than reproducing every visible detail. Upload the reference clip and images of the new product or character, then let the visuals and shot organization adapt to that subject. A floating-product reveal, for example, can become a different advertisement built around the shape, materials, and context of your own item. This mode belongs to the standard Dreamina Recreate model; it is not available in Recreate Lite. Creative Recreate uses Seedance 2.5, with support for switching to Seedance 2.5 Flash planned after that model becomes available. Review the interpretation against your creative goal and only use reference material you are entitled to adapt.

Choose the right version, references, and output settings

Dreamina Recreate Lite is the lower-cost option for shorter clips: one 4–15-second reference video, Motion Transfer or Object Swap, and 720p or 1080p output. Standard Dreamina Recreate accepts one 4–30-second reference video, supports all three modes, and offers 480p, 720p, or 1080p. Both default to 720p and follow the source video’s duration and aspect ratio instead of providing separate controls for them. Add at least one reference image; multiple images and existing subjects from your account are supported. Lite uses Wan 3.0, while standard Recreate uses Seedance 2.5. Choose the model and mode manually, check the displayed credit cost, and track the result in the existing task center. Model choices depend on your region and rollout. For an original clip made from a written idea, use the AI Video Generator.

Build on the part of the video that already works

Choose a mode around your creative task, whether you want to reuse a performance, update a product shot, or explore another interpretation of an idea.

Give a useful performance another creative role

A reference clip provides more than a pose: it carries movement, camera behavior, and rhythm. Motion Transfer lets you use those qualities as a starting point for a character or visual direction from your own images. Judge the new version against the sequence you wanted to retain, especially at turns, contacts, and changes in framing.

Explore a new variant within an existing shot

When a scene is already effective, a targeted replacement can help you explore a different product, outfit, prop, or subject. Object Swap gives the request a clear scope: specify the replacement and the surrounding details that should remain. You can compare the resulting version with the source before deciding whether it fits your campaign or edit.

Make the creative idea fit your own product

A reference concept may be useful even when its original subject is not. Creative Recreate gives the standard model room to adapt the visuals and shot organization around your character or item. This is useful for exploring a campaign direction while keeping the new product’s appearance and the intended message central to the brief.

How to use Dreamina Recreate

Choose the model and recreation mode

Open the video generator in Dreamina and choose an available Recreate model. Select Motion Transfer, Object Swap, or Creative Recreate to match your goal. Use the standard model for Creative Recreate, since Lite supports only the first two modes.

Add your source clip and visual references

Upload one reference video lasting 4–15 seconds for Lite or 4–30 seconds for standard Recreate. Add at least one image, multiple reference images, or an existing subject from your account. Add optional instructions, choose a supported resolution, and check the displayed credits before submitting.

Review the result and refine the request

Track progress and review the completed video in the task center. Check that the result follows the intended mode, references, and source timing. Use the task’s re-edit action to return to the video input flow and adjust your request.

What users say about Dreamina’s Recreate workflows — illustrative briefs

Vera Drew

Illustrative creator brief: I have a dance clip with the timing I want, and I want to explore that performance with my original character. My references show the full outfit and appearance. I would compare the turns, foot placement, and camera movement with the source before choosing a version.

Emily R. •March 3
Alice

Illustrative creator brief: My product shot already has the right light and hand movement. I want to replace just the bottle with a new variant, keeping its lid and proportions faithful to my references. The details I would inspect first are the contact with the table and the fingers passing in front.

Jason T.•May 7
Bob

Illustrative creator brief: I like the idea of a floating product reveal, but I want the scene to suit my own skincare jar. I would choose Creative Recreate and explain the material, setting, and mood. The result needs to feel designed around the new product rather than inherit unrelated packaging details.

Cathy

Illustrative creator brief: I want to explore another outfit within a short performance clip. I would choose Object Swap, provide clear clothing references, and specify that the performer’s movement and setting should stay consistent. Fabric near moving arms and overlapping hands would be the important review points for me.

Illustrative creator brief: I have a longer reference scene and want to adapt the creative idea to another character. I would use standard Recreate within its 30-second limit. I would keep the source frame in mind, since the output follows its duration and aspect ratio rather than a separate size selection.

Dreamina Recreate FAQs

What is Dreamina Recreate, and which mode should I choose?

Dreamina Recreate is a reference-video workflow for creating a new version from a source clip and visual reference images. Choose Motion Transfer to follow the source action, camera movement, and timing while rebuilding the character, scene, or overall look. Choose Object Swap for a specified person, outfit, product, scene, or object replacement while aiming to preserve the rest of the shot. Choose Creative Recreate to adapt the reference idea and shot organization around a different subject or product. It is available in the standard model only. These are documented capabilities and rollout plans; check the models and modes shown in your account.

How do Dreamina Recreate and Recreate Lite differ?

Standard Dreamina Recreate uses Seedance 2.5, supports all three modes, accepts one 4–30-second video, and offers 480p, 720p, or 1080p. Recreate Lite uses Wan 3.0, supports Motion Transfer and Object Swap, accepts one 4–15-second video, and offers 720p or 1080p. Both default to 720p, require at least one reference image, and follow the source duration and aspect ratio. Lite is positioned for lower-cost short-video exploration, while the standard version is positioned for higher-quality results and longer clips. Availability varies by region; the initial US rollout is planned for the standard version. Seedance 2.5 Flash switching for Creative Recreate is a future plan, not a current guarantee.

What can I upload, and can I trim or change the video’s aspect ratio?

Upload one source video and at least one reference image; multiple reference images and @ mentions of existing subjects are supported. For Motion Transfer, the images define the new character, setting, or visual direction. For Object Swap, they define the selected replacement; for Creative Recreate, they show the new subject or product. @ mentions of video and audio are not supported in this workflow. The launch scope has no segment-selection or trimming control, and videos above the selected model’s duration limit are rejected rather than automatically cropped. Prepare a suitable clip before upload. Output duration and aspect ratio follow that clip.

Can I try Dreamina Recreate for free, and how do I check the cost?

Dreamina offers free trial credits, but Recreate access and whether those credits can be used for a particular generation depend on the rollout and the terms shown in your account. Check the selected model, supported mode, resolution, and displayed credit amount before submitting. Lite is positioned as the lower-cost version; check the workspace for the applicable Recreate credit quote. This page’s plan comparison is for Dreamina generally and does not guarantee that every plan includes every Recreate model or unlimited generations.

Do I need a prompt, and how can I improve or re-edit a result?

A supplementary prompt is optional; the workflow interprets the reference video and images to guide recreation. Add concise directions when you need to name the target, explain what should remain, or describe how the idea should adapt to a new product. Use clear references and inspect the generated result for movement, appearance, contact, lighting, and unintended changes. The task center shows the mode label and your input, and re-editing returns you to the video generator’s input flow. Use videos, likenesses, products, and other material you are entitled to adapt. If you need a starting visual or a separate photo-animation workflow, explore the AI Image Generator and Image to Video tools.
