Start with Dreamina when your marketing video needs original product imagery, a reference-led moving shot or a campaign visual you cannot get from the footage you already have. Pair it with an editor for exact titles, pacing and the final CTA. If your starting asset is a webinar, a written article or an approved presenter script, choose a tool built around that input instead.

The most useful distinction is what you are missing: new footage, a complete first draft, a presenter, a polished edit or shorter versions of existing material. This guide covers all five jobs. It compares documented workflows and current access conditions, with one existing fictional production example. It is not a same-brief quality benchmark of all twelve tools.

1. Dreamina: create the visual material you are missing

Dreamina is our first recommendation when the core production problem is an original visual: a product reveal, a campaign setting, custom B-roll or a reference-led scene. Its image and video workflows let you resolve the composition before directing movement.

Use Dreamina’s AI image generator to develop a source where needed, then take an approved image into its image-to-video workflow. Give the shot one clear job. A restrained push-in around a product is easier to approve than a request combining a rotation, hand interaction, liquid splash and new lettering.

Why choose it: the image can establish the product position, background and text space before motion consumes more credits. That is useful when an existing stock shot cannot communicate the intended campaign idea.

What still needs work: generated labels, materials, proportions and motion need inspection. Finish exact promotional text, branding and the overall message in editable layers. Available references, editing controls, duration, audio and export settings depend on the selected model and mode. A capability associated with Seedance 2.5 is not automatically a feature of every Mini or earlier-version run.

Free and paid: US users receive 120 daily free credits, with different allocations in other markets. Treat credits as an experimentation budget, not a fixed number of finished ads. Confirm the selected feature, model, plan and input permissions for commercial delivery.

2. Runway: develop a directed shot and its revisions

Runway is relevant when the marketing brief already contains a specific shot or a change to existing footage. Compare the current generation and editing workflows rather than treating the platform as one model.

Its product-shot application, for example, guides a product photograph through choices such as environment and creative concept before a moving shot. A hosted application can use a partner model; the output should be attributed to that actual route rather than automatically called a Runway-model result.

Choose it when: you expect to revise lighting, setting or another visual component and want to evaluate that process along with initial generation.

Watch for: a convincing altered scene can change product geometry or lettering elsewhere. Test the correction you actually need, and inspect what changed around it. “Editing supported” does not mean every pixel outside the instruction will remain identical.

Access: Free includes 125 one-time credits and limited model access. Standard is USD 15 on monthly billing, or USD 12 per month billed annually, with 625 monthly credits. The chosen model determines how far that balance goes. Verify the specific application before treating it as a Free route.

3. Adobe Firefly: generate assets close to Adobe finishing

Firefly is a useful shortlist option for a team whose final video already passes through Adobe tools. Evaluate image-led footage, the relevant camera or keyframe controls and the handoff into your existing edit.

Choose it when: the generated shot is one ingredient in a campaign with further color, sound, typography and compositing work. Staying near the tools the team already knows may matter more than another generator’s headline allowance.

Watch for: Firefly’s own models and its partner models do not have identical settings or usage terms. Adobe’s commercial-safety positioning for its own models should not become a blanket guarantee for the entire catalog or for your uploaded references.

Access: US Firefly Standard is USD 9.99 monthly with 2,000 credits in the checked plan. Video is premium generation. An eligible plan’s unlimited standard image generation is not an unlimited-video allowance.

4. InVideo AI: fill an empty timeline from a brief

InVideo AI addresses a different bottleneck: you need a draft with a script, scenes, narration and pacing, rather than just one moving shot. Supply the audience, length, message, approved claims, assets and CTA. Then revise the assembled result scene by scene.

Choose it when: you are making an explainer, a faceless promotional video or a content-led sequence and would benefit from a complete structure to edit.

Watch for: an automatically selected scene may illustrate a topic without showing your actual product. A fluent narration can introduce an unsupported benefit. Approve the script before accepting the visual assembly, then replace generic or inaccurate media.

Access: the current pricing page uses Basic, Pro and higher tiers with per-seat credits and model restrictions. Basic does not include the same frontier models as Pro. Promotional annual prices and older Starter/Plus reviews should not be treated as a stable monthly quote. Confirm the chosen agent, model, credit pool and export before buying.

5. Creatify: begin with the product page and ad message

Creatify is a relevant option for a store or app marketer starting from a product URL. Its URL-to-video workflow extracts information and assets, supports scripts and presenters, and helps build ad variations.

Choose it when: the hard part is turning an existing product proposition into several messages, rather than directing a precise camera move around the item.

Watch for: extraction is not approval. Remove expired promotions, unsupported review claims, irrelevant page images and wrong variants. Check whether the product shown in a presenter-led draft is the one the customer will receive.

Access: the checked Standard plan lists 55 monthly credits; other tiers change the available tools and models. Confirm billing and the actual generation route instead of relying on an older review’s plan name or assumed number of free complete ads.

A useful first comparison is two hooks based on the same approved claim sheet. Do not change the offer, audience, product and script together and call the result a clean creative test.

6. HeyGen: deliver a script through a presenter

HeyGen belongs on the shortlist when someone needs to explain the offer to camera. Start with approved words and an appropriate permitted avatar or custom identity. Evaluate the spoken message, pronunciation, facial movement and localization workflow.

Choose it when: you need spokesperson content, sales outreach, service explanations or versions for different languages. Those are different requirements from a product orbit or atmospheric background shot.

Watch for: a synthetic presenter must not imply a genuine customer experience that did not happen. Obtain permission for a real person’s likeness and voice. Have a capable language reviewer check each market’s wording, units, price and CTA; translation alone does not approve the campaign.

Access: Free currently lists three videos monthly, up to one minute each, with a watermark. Creator is USD 29 on monthly billing and includes 1080p, watermark removal and a defined credit allowance. Advanced generation has its own limits; do not read a general plan headline as unlimited use of every model.

7. Synthesia: maintain a structured business explainer

Synthesia is a useful candidate for repeatable, presenter-led business communication. Start from an approved script, document or presentation, then organize the message into scenes with an appropriate presenter and supporting product material.

Choose it when: the same explanation needs regular updates or several language versions. For a software feature announcement, retain actual screen recordings or approved captures rather than asking generated B-roll to document the interface.

Watch for: a polished presenter does not prove a product claim. Inspect the script, pronunciation and screen content, and confirm that the plan supports the brand and collaboration controls your team needs. A generated demonstration is different from verified software behavior.

Access: the checked Starter offer renews at USD 19 per month on monthly billing after an eligible first-month promotion; annual billing is USD 168, equivalent to USD 14 monthly. Starter includes downloads and logo removal. The Free creation allowance should not be assumed to include the same downloadable deliverable.

8. Canva: keep the promotional layout editable

Canva is useful when you have the photos or clips and need a designed video with precise text, branding and an ending. Assemble the selected material, control its crop, set the reading time and add the actual logo and approved offer.

Choose it when: a small team needs recurring announcements, event videos or product sequences with a consistent visual system. Editable copy matters when a deadline or price changes late.

Watch for: manual assembly, Image to Video, text-generated clips, Brand Kits and automated resizing are separate capabilities with different access conditions. The presence of a Free editor does not make the entire AI catalog free. A template also does not guarantee readable placement or accurate generated footage.

Access: use the own-media editing features available in your account and check premium assets separately. For Image to Video specifically, current help describes usually five-second silent clips, sometimes shorter, with Free use subject to remaining monthly AI allowance. Do not confuse that route with another video-generation feature.

9. Descript: edit marketing recordings through their words

Descript is a strong workflow candidate when you already have a founder recording, interview, customer conversation or webinar. Its transcript editing links changes in the text to changes in the video; supporting tools address speech cleanup, captions and clips.

Choose it when: the useful material exists but needs a tighter argument. Remove repetition, retain the speaker’s meaning and check the cut against the original recording. Permission and context matter especially for customer testimony.

Watch for: a correct transcript cut can still sound abrupt. Review the resulting audio and picture, and do not use generated speech to make someone appear to say an unapproved claim.

Access: Free has limited media processing and does not include watermark-free video export. Hobbyist adds clean 1080p export. Media hours, AI credits and export conditions are different allowances; compare all three before choosing a recurring plan.

10. OpusClip: turn long recordings into shorter candidates

OpusClip suits a webinar or interview library. It identifies candidate clips, reframes them and adds captions, reducing the amount of manual searching needed before editorial review.

Choose it when: you need excerpts from existing content, not new product footage. A ranking or Virality Score can help prioritize inspection, but it is not a prediction of campaign results. Check that the excerpt retains the speaker’s qualification and has a complete beginning and ending.

Access: Free lists 60 monthly credits, a watermark, no editing and a three-day export window. Starter is USD 15 billed monthly with 150 credits and watermark removal. Export useful drafts within the available window and confirm the editing features you need.

11. VEED: finish existing footage in the browser

VEED is worth comparing when captions, layout and quick finishing are the main tasks. Start with the recorded or accepted generated material, create subtitles, correct the transcript and adjust the design for the intended placement.

Choose it when: a browser editor gives the team a convenient way to make revisions without building a more complex production environment. Its broader AI catalog can be useful, but evaluate the specific feature needed by the job.

Watch for: automatic subtitles can mishear a brand, product name or technical term. Review captions alongside the audio, then inspect the exported file at phone size. A cleanup feature cannot recover a claim that was never correctly recorded.

Access: official export guidance limits Free to 720p, and Free exports carry a VEED watermark. Paid export and AI allowances should be checked against the current selected plan; do not assume an old review’s price includes every AI feature.

12. Pictory: adapt an article into a narrated video

Pictory is relevant when the source is an approved article, script or document. Its blog-to-video route starts from a public URL, asks for the video type, platform and length, then lets you review the script and change scenes before downloading an MP4.

Choose it when: a content team wants a visual summary of material it already owns. Check that shortening the article has not removed an important qualification. Replace merely related stock with actual product media where necessary.

Watch for: Pictory now includes generative tools as well as stock-based assembly, so “it cannot generate footage” is an outdated distinction. Compare the source-to-script process and available revision path instead.

Access: the current 14-day trial lists three videos with branded 720p output. Paid delivery differs. Check the credit period and pool, rather than treating annual credits or an “unlimited videos” label as unlimited generative usage.

Take one existing recording through a usable first cut

Suppose you have an authorized founder recording explaining one product feature, with a demonstration and an important qualification. The proposed brief is a coherent explanation plus a short social excerpt. The following paths describe documented operations; this recording was not newly edited for this article.

Descript: build the complete explanation

Import the recording and let Descript transcribe it. Correct important product names before using the text to navigate. Highlight a redundant sentence and remove it from the script, then play the resulting cut. Keep the qualification attached to the benefit it limits; deleting hesitation should not create a stronger promise.

Divide the argument into scenes. The source workflow uses a forward slash in the script to create a scene break. Add a genuine product close-up or screen capture over the relevant scene using the media controls. Check that it demonstrates the feature being described rather than merely decorating it. If the wrong insert was chosen, select that media layer and use Replace; this differs from replacing the underlying spoken script track.

Listen across every cut and inspect the picture at the same point. Restore a useful pause or adjust the edit if the join sounds abrupt. Correct captions, inspect the CTA, then export using a plan that supports the required clean delivery. Retain the project and untouched recording. The useful output here is a full edited explanation, not simply a list of attractive excerpts.

OpusClip: select and finish a self-contained excerpt

Supply the recording through a supported video link or file upload. The supported link sources vary by plan. Review the proposed clips alongside the original recording: a high ranking can still start with “that is why” or omit the condition that follows.

On a plan with editing, adjust the clip's beginning and ending so the statement makes sense alone. Review reframing where the founder points toward the product; centering the face can hide the demonstrated feature. Correct product names in the captions and preview the text at the intended phone size.

If the needed context cannot fit, reject that candidate or choose a longer passage. Do not use a new generated sentence to manufacture a conclusion. Download within the actual account's export window and reopen the file. The Free route's no-editing condition means it cannot be assumed to support the corrections above; a paid editing route or another editor may be necessary.

Pictory: adapt the written version instead

If the approved explanation already exists as an article, paste its public URL into Pictory and choose the video type, destination platform and length. Check the proposed script before building scenes: preserve the qualification and remove unsupported additions.

Generate the assembly, replace unrelated stock with actual product media, and choose or change the voice. Pictory also offers generated assets, but those do not verify product behavior. Review the narration, captions and each scene, then download the MP4.

These are different first deliverables: Descript tightens the recording, OpusClip proposes shorter selections, and Pictory builds a narrated adaptation of the written source. Choose the input and update path that match the work you already own.

What an existing finished sequence actually proves

Our fictional fragrance example combines three Dreamina-generated shots with manually assembled Canva Free titles and an end card. The corrected export is about twenty seconds at 1080 × 1920; the generated source clips were 720p.

The original edit had two different problems: the opening’s liquid appearance differed from later shots, and fitting a landscape shot into a portrait sequence cropped the bottle base. Replacing the opening with a prepared portrait-source generation improved both issues in the sampled review. Some color and proportion differences across shots remained.

This illustrates the division between creating footage and assembling a marketing message. It does not establish exact real-product fidelity or campaign performance. The review used sampled frames; it did not include watching the complete video at normal speed or listening to the final audio. A music track was added and the source clips were muted. Do not infer sound quality from the file’s audio track.

Three practical setups

A product launch with missing visual material

Use Dreamina for the approved key visual and a small set of directed shots. Finish exact copy, the actual logo and the CTA in the editor your team can already use. Add another generator only if a defined shot or repair requirement remains unresolved.

Keep real product photography beside the generated material during approval. A promotional scene may be attractive while still being unsuitable as a literal demonstration of an active SKU.

A recurring business explanation

Choose HeyGen or Synthesia when the script and presenter carry the message. Choose InVideo AI or Pictory when a sequence of supporting scenes is more appropriate. Retain actual product captures for factual demonstrations and have each language version reviewed.

The decision is about presentation and updateability, not whether an avatar looks impressive in a demo.

A marketing program with a recording library

Start with Descript for a tighter long-form edit or OpusClip for candidate excerpts. Use VEED or Canva if the remaining need is caption, layout or brand finishing. These tools overlap, so verify whether one can complete the handoff before paying for several.

A real customer interview should remain a real, permissioned account. Editing can clarify it; synthetic additions should not create a customer experience that was never expressed.

How to choose before committing to a plan

Take one representative assignment through the whole delivery path. For new footage, use an approved product image with its difficult label or reflective surface. For a webinar, include a passage with context that must survive a short excerpt. For a presenter, use the actual brand name and a sentence whose pronunciation matters.

Evaluate the output and one likely revision. Change an offer line, replace an inaccurate scene, correct a subtitle or adjust a crop. Then download the result and inspect its dimensions, branding, sound and usage conditions.

Track subscription cost, credits, rejected attempts and finishing time. A low entry price is less useful if the chosen plan cannot export the deliverable or access the required model. Annual equivalents, temporary first-month discounts and monthly renewal prices are different commitments.

Use marketing results only after a real campaign runs. A Virality Score, attractive generated scene or vendor case study cannot establish your click-through rate, purchases or return on ad spend.

When the creative route is chosen, follow the workflow to create social media ads with AI from brief through export and submission.

FAQ

Which tool should a small marketing team start with?

Use Dreamina when original visual material is the missing piece, and finish it with an editor the team already knows. If you already have recordings, begin with the editing or repurposing task instead. Avoid buying several overlapping subscriptions before completing one representative export.

Can one tool make the whole video?

For a simple presenter or assembled explainer, potentially. The output still needs script, asset, sound and delivery review. A complex product campaign may benefit from separate generation and finishing tools.

Are AI presenters suitable for customer testimonials?

They can present an approved explanation, but they should not imply a real customer’s experience that did not happen. Use permissioned real testimony when that is the evidence behind the message.

Which option is cheapest?

Compare the cost of an accepted, usable deliverable. Free generation, clean export, processing time and commercial permissions are separate conditions. Verify the entire path before treating a free account as a production solution.

Will AI tools improve marketing performance?

They can help create and revise material. Performance depends on the offer, audience, placement, destination, message and execution. Give approved versions clear identities and measure actual campaign outcomes.

For a new visual campaign, start in Dreamina with one approved product or style reference and a clear shot brief. For an existing recording or article, choose the tool whose input and revision workflow match that material.

For a photo-led assignment, see how to turn product photos into social videos with source, timeline and final-file checks.
