Try three Draft shot ideas

Try variations of one creative decision at a time: fabric movement, a continuous camera path, or low-light action. These original images illustrate prompt ideas, not actual Draft outputs. Use the briefs in a Draft-capable workflow; the buttons currently open the Dreamina video workspace.

  • Fashion craftsmanship: test fabric and hand movement

A cinematic 10-second, 16:9 continuous shot in a sunlit fashion atelier. An adult artisan in a burgundy linen shirt guides rust-red silk through a vintage sewing machine, pauses to smooth one fold, and lifts the fabric toward the window. Begin with a medium view of her hands and the fabric, then make a slow, steady camera move to reveal her focused expression. Keep the machine, hands, garment and room layout coherent throughout. Show soft cloth movement, warm window light and realistic material texture. Audio: a quiet sewing-machine rhythm and natural room ambience, no dialogue or music.

  • Market long take: rehearse blocking and a handoff

A cinematic 10-second, 16:9 continuous tracking shot through an outdoor produce market at dawn. Follow an adult woman in a dark teal jacket at walking speed as she passes two stalls, slows beside a fruit vendor, receives one small paper bag with her right hand, and continues down the same aisle. The camera tracks backward smoothly at chest height without cuts or sudden zooms. Keep her face and clothing consistent, preserve a clear walking path, and let background shoppers pass naturally without blocking the handoff. Use warm sunrise light and restrained motion blur. Audio: soft market conversation and footsteps, no intelligible dialogue or music.

  • Night rescue: check action, smoke and emergency light

A cinematic 10-second, 16:9 night rescue outside an industrial building. Two adult firefighters guide an unharmed adult through a smoky doorway toward a waiting emergency vehicle. Begin in a wide view that clearly establishes the exit and route, then track sideways as the three people move together across wet pavement. Keep their spacing, equipment and direction of travel coherent. Red and blue emergency lights reflect on the ground; light smoke drifts behind them and a few distant embers rise near the doorway. Emphasize readable movement rather than chaotic cuts. Audio: distant sirens, footsteps and quiet radio ambience, no dialogue, injuries or graphic content.

What makes Seedance 2.5 Draft different?

Make creative decisions at preview resolution, then commit to a selected take. Draft Mode is a two-stage workflow within Seedance 2.5, with separate preview and final-generation tasks.

Preview the shot at 480p before committing to it

A beautiful frame cannot tell you whether a handoff lands, a camera move feels natural, or a performance has the right rhythm. Seedance 2.5 Draft lets you examine those decisions in a 480p video before spending the final-render budget. Test composition, subject action, character performance, dialogue, audio, reference behavior and pacing, then adjust the brief for another candidate. The official amusement-ride Draft shown here is a real handbook sample. Use the preview to judge the shot as a sequence, rather than choosing on still-image appeal alone.

Generate a fresh native 1080p final from the chosen Draft

Once a take works, the selected Draft becomes the creative foundation for a new native 1080p generation. This second pass is not a super-resolution filter applied to the preview. It reuses the chosen prompt, references, seed, duration and aspect ratio, keeping scene structure, composition, subject motion and camera movement closely aligned while developing finer textures, lighting and material detail. The official final shown here corresponds to the preceding amusement-ride Draft. Expect continuity in shot intent and staging, while still reviewing the finished video for generation differences before delivery.

Spend the exploration budget on more candidate takes

Draft Mode is most useful when finding the shot takes several attempts. The handbook models a five-second, 16:9 clip without input video at US$0.514 per 480p Draft and US$2.843 per native 1080p final, using list prices dated October 28, 2026. Eleven Drafts plus one selected final total US$8.497, about 73% below eleven direct 1080p renders; twenty Drafts plus one final total US$13.123, about 77% below twenty direct renders. These examples compare exploration leading to one final shot. Both stages are billed independently, and actual API charges follow token usage; Dreamina workspace credit pricing is separate.

Illustrative prompt keyframe: a continuous market walk with a vendor handoff

Move a selected shot into final production with less uncertainty

A preview-first process gives the team something concrete to approve: the performance, camera path and timing of a selected take. In the handbook’s engineering tests, ten-second Drafts averaged as little as approximately 70 seconds, and final generation was 39.3%–57.7% faster than direct 1080p generation. That final-stage comparison excludes the time spent generating Drafts and is not an end-to-end speed guarantee. Use the workflow to resolve creative uncertainty early, keep the chosen Draft ID available, and leave time to review the newly generated final before adding it to an edit.

Use Draft Mode where the shot needs rehearsal

The strongest reason to preview is a creative choice you still need to resolve. These illustrative scenarios reflect the types of shots covered in the product handbook.

Refine performance and material interaction

For fashion films, product stories and character-led scenes, compare the movement that carries the idea: fingers guiding fabric, a garment turning in light, or a performer completing a gesture. Use each Draft to answer a specific question about timing or interaction. Prepare visual references with Dreamina’s AI image generator, then keep the preferred creative conditions for the final pass.

Illustrative prompt keyframe: a continuous market walk with a vendor handoff

Work out a continuous shot before finishing it

A long take depends on more than attractive scenery. Check where the subject walks, when a prop changes hands, how background people are spaced, and whether the camera can follow the action clearly. A 480p Draft makes those staging decisions visible. For broader starting workflows, explore image-to-video generation or develop a scene with text-to-video AI.

Illustrative prompt keyframe: a night rescue with smoke and emergency lighting

Compare ambitious action without finishing every attempt

Low light, smoke, choreography and moving cameras can make a shot harder to judge from a written brief. Review candidate Drafts for readable action and a convincing visual rhythm, then advance the best take to native 1080p. The handbook includes rescue, palace-dance and market examples for this reason. Keep the final review focused on both continuity and newly generated detail before incorporating the shot into your wider AI video creation workflow.

How to use Seedance 2.5 Draft

Create a 480p Draft

Using the BytePlus ModelArk workflow, start a Draft request with your scene description and any image, video or audio references. Set Draft mode on and choose 480p, the supported preview resolution. Save the returned task ID and wait until the Draft succeeds before reviewing the video.

Illustrative prompt keyframe: a fashion artisan sewing silk in a sunlit atelier

Compare takes and choose the shot

Watch for composition, performance, camera movement, dialogue, audio and pacing. Refine the prompt or references and create new Drafts when you want a different creative direction. Choose the successful take that best matches your shot intent and retain its task ID.

Illustrative prompt keyframe: a continuous market walk with a vendor handoff

Generate and review the native 1080p final

Create a final-generation task using the same model and the selected Draft ID at 1080p. The model automatically reuses the Draft’s creative conditions, so do not resend those inputs. When the task succeeds, download and review the newly generated final for continuity, lighting and detail before delivery.

Seedance 2.5 Draft FAQs

What is Seedance 2.5 Draft, and is it an AI video upscaler?

Seedance 2.5 Draft is a preview-first mode within Seedance 2.5: explore at 480p, select a take, then generate a fresh native 1080p final. It is not post-processing upscaling of the Draft video. The final closely follows the chosen scene, composition, subject motion and camera movement while developing finer textures and lighting. Close alignment does not mean pixel-identical output. The handbook documents 480p Drafts and 1080p finals; it does not establish a 4K final for this workflow.

Which creative inputs carry over from the Draft to the final?

The final automatically reuses the selected Draft’s prompt, image/video/audio references, duration, aspect ratio, seed, audio settings and omni-reference task type. Do not resend those creative parameters, even with matching values, because the API rejects them. To change a creative input, make and select a new Draft first. Output format, watermark, service tier, callback URL and other delivery settings can be supplied again; omitted settings use model defaults, which may differ from the Draft’s settings.

Is Seedance 2.5 Draft free, and how are the two stages charged?

The documented ModelArk workflow bills Draft and final tasks independently. The handbook’s October 28, 2026 list-price model puts a five-second, 16:9 clip without input video at US$0.514 for a Draft and US$2.843 for a final; actual charges follow tokens and exclude taxes, discounts, packages and currency effects. One Draft plus one final costs more than one direct final, so savings depend on exploring several candidates. With an input video, final billing uses the original reference video’s duration, not the Draft preview as an extra input. Dreamina may offer free credits subject to account and current terms; these do not establish free ModelArk API access or a fixed Draft credit price.

How fast is Draft Mode compared with direct 1080p generation?

In the handbook’s engineering tests, ten-second Drafts averaged as little as approximately 70 seconds. Final generation was 39.3%–57.7% faster than direct 1080p generation, excluding the time used to produce Drafts. These results describe the tested workflow and are not a promise for every request, queue or end-to-end project. The practical benefit is the opportunity to settle composition, motion and timing before committing the selected take to a final render.

Where can I use Draft Mode, and how long does a Draft ID remain valid?

The documented implementation uses BytePlus ModelArk with model ID dreamina-seedance-2-5-260628. Create a task with draft=true and resolution=480p, wait for succeeded, then submit its ID as a draft_task in a new 1080p request using the same model and draft=false or omitted. IDs created at or after October 28, 2026, 10:00 UTC+8 remain valid for 14 days from created_at; earlier IDs last seven days, and expired IDs cannot generate finals. See the official Draft Mode integration guide. This page’s buttons currently open the Dreamina video workspace while a dedicated entry is pending.
