Dreamina is our first recommendation for starting an AI video without paying. Use its daily free credits to explore a visual idea, animate a prepared image or make a short scene with a supported model. Keep the first action simple, review the whole clip and download a version that works for your project.

For other needs, consider Google Flow for a recurring allowance, Runway for a one-time introduction to its tools, Hailuo for available welcome or promotional credits, and HeyGen for a short presenter video. Adobe Firefly and Google Vids also offer useful free starting routes. The important difference is what you can actually generate and export, rather than whether signing up costs anything.

The conditions below were checked in November 2026. Choose a task first, then check the selected model, balance, output settings and download conditions before using a limited allowance.

Kling and Krea also deserve consideration, with account- and model-specific access conditions explained below. Pika's Free account currently has no monthly credits, while Luma's published individual plans start with paid access. Treat those differences as part of the choice before investing time in a project.

Decide what “free” needs to include

A useful free option should let you complete the part of the job that matters to you. Separate these five arrangements:

  • A recurring allowance: credits or a limited number of videos return daily or monthly. Check expiry and whether unused amounts accumulate.

  • A one-time starter balance: useful for trying a workflow, but it ends when you use it.

  • A welcome gift or promotion: can depend on the account, date, region and expiry. It is not necessarily the normal daily allowance.

  • A free account with paid generation: you can enter the workspace, but need a purchase before making the chosen video.

  • A free editor: can assemble your own footage without necessarily including new AI-generated footage, premium stock or every export option.

Also decide whether a watermark is acceptable, whether the file must include sound, and whether you need commercial permission. A free preview of one image does not show how the full video moves, and a free download does not automatically meet every business requirement.

Dreamina: start with a visual idea and one action

Use Dreamina's AI video generator to develop a short creative scene. With a starting image, establish the composition before requesting motion. With text, describe one subject, one action, the setting and the camera behavior.

Dreamina AI video generator page showing its video prompt area and Seedance model selector

Open the creation workspace, choose the relevant video mode and a model available to your account, then add the prompt and supported references. Set the intended aspect ratio, a short duration and an appropriate resolution. Review the displayed quote before generating; a credit balance and access to a premium model are separate conditions.

Watch the entire result before revising it. Check what happens to faces, props, lettering and the background when the subject moves. Keep a promising version, change one instruction and compare the new result. Download the chosen clip and open the file to confirm its duration, dimensions, sound and visible marks.

Dreamina's US Free allowance is 120 credits per day; other regions have different allowances. Actual output quantities depend on the selected model, duration, resolution, mode and final generation. Use the available Free route for your first scene, and check any upgrade prompt before choosing a premium editing operation.

If you already have a photograph or illustration, the free image-to-video guide helps you choose an image-led starting workflow. For commercial delivery, confirm permission for your region, plan, selected model and source material.

A free download example: two paper pinwheel variations

These two short clips were made with Seedance 1.0 Mini on a Free account using an existing promotional credit balance. The account had roughly 45,000 gifted credits, so use the clips as examples of that model's generation and download workflow, rather than a prediction of how many videos a normal daily allowance will make.

The first brief asked for a teal paper pinwheel turning on a wooden table in morning light, with a static camera.

The second version requested yellow paper. It changes the color, but also the folds, blade arrangement, framing and support beneath the pinwheel. Think of these as two creative variations. If you need to recolor an exact product or preserve an existing shot, compare those details before selecting a version.

Both downloaded files run for about five seconds at 1248 × 704 and have no audio track. For a social post, add any required narration or music in the edit, keep the visible branding, and preview the final composition at the size your audience will see.

Google Flow: a recurring allowance for short scenes

Flow gives users 50 credits a day, with or without a subscription. Unused daily credits do not roll over. This makes it a useful option for spreading small experiments across several days instead of using a one-time trial all at once.

Google Flow official credit guide showing the daily allowance and non-subscriber peak-hour limits

Start a project, switch the selector to Video, then choose an available model. Enter a scene description or add a supported starting frame. Review duration, aspect ratio and output count before generating. A request can produce multiple generations, so its total cost can exceed the price of one clip.

The current non-Ultra rates list Veo 3.1 Lite at 10 credits and Fast at 20 per generation. A Quality generation costs more than one free daily allowance. Use the model and settings your account offers, then watch the whole result and listen if it includes sound.

Non-subscribers may be unable to generate video during peak hours, roughly 2 PM–5 PM UTC. Return outside that period if the Free route is unavailable; a visible balance does not guarantee immediate generation. Check output and export conditions separately from the daily credit amount.

Runway: use the starter balance as a focused trial

Runway's Free plan gives 125 credits once, with access to a limited selection of tools. Those credits do not expire, but they also do not renew. Choose one useful sample so the trial helps you decide whether the workflow fits your work.

Runway official Free plan guide with its one-time credit allocation and model-availability explanation

Open your account and check the models currently included in Free. Choose a supported video operation, supply its required input, write a clear action brief and inspect the settings and cost. Generate a short result, review it from beginning to end and download it before deciding whether to continue.

If a model displays an upgrade prompt, it is not currently included in your Free access. An upgrade prompt can also appear when you lack enough credits for the request. Reduce the request only where supported; changing the prompt cannot unlock a paid-only model.

Free videos carry a Runway watermark. You cannot buy extra credit packs while remaining on the Free plan; that requires a paid subscription. The included model selection can change, so do not plan around an old guide promising a particular model or a fixed number of free seconds.

Hailuo AI: check the welcome offer and its expiry

Hailuo is worth trying for a short scene when your account has eligible welcome or promotional credits. Prepare a text brief or a clear starting image, then choose an available model and the settings that fit the balance shown in the workspace.

Hailuo AI official creation workspace with the MiniMax H3 model selector, reference area and generation settings

For a first attempt, request one action and keep the camera direction simple. Review the generation quote, make the short clip and inspect faces, object contact and background changes. Download a candidate before spending the rest of an expiring offer on revisions.

Hailuo's published service terms describe a one-time welcome credit package that expires after three days, with current promotional details governed by the offer shown in the product. Check your actual offer rather than assuming a permanent monthly refill. Its Free downloads include a watermark; paid download and commercial-use provisions are separate.

The model visible in the workspace and the model covered by an offer may differ. An H3 reference control or a higher-resolution option on the page does not mean every Free account can use it at every setting.

Adobe Firefly: a limited daily route into video creation

Firefly's current plans page offers limited daily generations across image, video and audio without a subscription. It does not give a single public count that applies to every model and operation, so inspect the option you intend to use.

Open Video → Generate video, select an available model and enter the brief or supported first frame. Check the aspect ratio, output settings and any credit requirement, then generate and review the clip. Continue into the editor or download the result where the chosen workflow allows it.

Firefly hosts Adobe and partner models. Select Firefly Video explicitly when that is the model you want, and check the applicable terms instead of treating every hosted model as the same commercial arrangement. A paid-plan free trial is also different from the continuing, limited Free entry.

HeyGen: a short presenter video each month

HeyGen's pricing page lists three watermarked videos a month, up to one minute each, with Avatar IV and Video Agent. Its help guide qualifies the Free video quota as one to three depending on region and lists 720p sharing links. Use it to make and share a short presenter preview; confirm the download entitlement if you need an MP4 file for another editor.

HeyGen official pricing page showing its Free, Creator and Pro plans and the Free video allowance

Write the short message first. Choose an available presenter or an authorized custom avatar, set the voice and language, and review the scene layout. Use the Agent or editor to refine the message, then listen for names, numbers and the end of every sentence before reviewing or sharing it.

Keep a little time for an introduction and ending rather than filling the entire duration with rushed speech. Review captions and text wrapping on a phone as well as on the desktop preview.

HeyGen also provides other video-generation models, including its own Video 1. Their allowances and settings are separate from the presenter plan above. Choose the actual workflow you need instead of assuming one Free count covers every model or premium feature.

Google Vids: generation followed by editing and assembly

Google Vids offers ten video generations a month for personal Google accounts, using Veo 3.1 in its announced free video-generation route. Consider it when you want to combine a generated clip with your own material in a broader video project.

Google official announcement introducing video creation and editing at no cost in Google Vids

Start with a short scene description or a suitable photo. Generate the clip, review the movement and add it to the story you are assembling. Keep factual text, narration and any screen demonstration accurate; a generated scene can illustrate an idea without replacing a real product demonstration.

The same announcement separates paid custom music and directable avatar features from this no-cost video allowance. Choose the features available to your account. Screen recording and assembly are also useful when you can show the real process instead of generating every frame.

Flow and Vids are different products. Their allowances, controls and sharing routes should be assessed independently, even when both offer a Veo model.

Kling AI: use account offers without assuming a refill

Kling is a candidate for animating a reference image or exploring an action scene when your account has usable promotional credits. Its Basic plan has no stated monthly credit allocation, and recurring subscriber benefits should not be treated as a guaranteed Free daily balance.

Kling AI official paid membership offers showing subscription credits and subscriber creative benefits

Check the balance, expiry and selected model first. Supply a supported image or text brief, choose a short duration and review the quote before submitting. For an image-led sample, request one simple movement and examine the whole clip when the subject turns or crosses another object.

Controls vary by mode. In the current 4.0 guide, Keyframes and Omni references cannot be combined, and Flash does not provide the same first/last-frame controls. Select a mode your account actually includes rather than planning a Free sample around an unavailable feature.

Basic output is not a commercial-use route, and watermark removal is a paid-plan benefit. If you need a predictable recurring allowance without subscribing, begin with one of the daily or monthly options above instead of relying on a possible promotion.

Krea: a daily balance with limited model access

Krea lists 100 compute units a day on its Free plan and limited access to video models. It is worth examining when you want to prepare visuals and see which generation options your account offers within that shared allowance.

Krea official monthly pricing comparison showing daily Free compute and different model access across plans

Choose an available video model and inspect its input requirements and compute estimate. Prepare the image first if the intended appearance matters, then request one modest movement. Review the resulting clip and download conditions before allocating the remaining units to another version.

A daily balance does not mean all hosted video models are included. The model examples and generation estimates listed under paid tiers should not be read as Free output quantities. Check the selected model's availability, actual quote, watermark and usage terms, especially if the same balance also supports your image preparation.

Pika: a free account that needs generation credits

Pika's Free plan currently includes no monthly credits. It allows you to buy packs without a subscription, which can suit occasional paid use but does not make the generation free.

Its Free output can be watermark-free, while commercial use is excluded on that plan even when you buy a pack. Keep those two conditions separate. Consider a paid route if Pika's particular effect or editing app is the reason you want it; for a no-spend first clip, choose an available allowance elsewhere in this guide.

Luma's published individual pricing currently starts with the paid Plus plan. It is useful to know this before preparing a Ray3.2 generation or Modify Video project around an expected recurring Free allowance.

Check your account for any separate offer, but do not treat an old free-trial description as a continuing published plan. If a particular paid control becomes necessary, our broader AI video generator comparison explains the different creative workflows before you decide to subscribe.

Make your first free session produce a useful file

1. Choose one small job. A five-second image animation, a simple background scene or a short explanation is easier to complete than a full story with several characters. Decide whether the output can carry a watermark and whether it needs sound.

2. Prepare the input before using credits. Pick a clear image with the important subject visible, or write a brief with one action and one camera direction. Avoid requesting a long chain of events in the first attempt.

3. Inspect the selected operation. Check the model, duration, dimensions, output count and quote. Confirm whether your balance recurs or expires. If the operation requires an upgrade, choose a supported route rather than repeatedly submitting it.

4. Generate and watch the entire clip. Look beyond the opening image. Check faces, labels, object contact, camera movement and the ending. If sound is included, listen to every word and cue.

5. Revise one important issue. Keep the first useful version. Simplify a difficult action, improve the reference or adjust one direction. A second generation can change other details as well, so compare the complete versions.

6. Download and finish. Open the downloaded file, check its dimensions and audio, then trim it and add editable titles or captions. Export the assembled video and review that file at the intended display size.

Save the prompt, model, settings and result together. A platform's library can be convenient, but download a copy before a trial or temporary workspace expires. Use consistent file names so clips from different tools do not become indistinguishable.

A simple prompt for comparing your options

Use a scene you understand and can inspect. For example:

A small red paper sailboat drifts slowly across a shallow puddle after rain. Close view at water level, soft overcast light, a gentle camera follow. One continuous shot with the boat fully visible.

For a model with supported audio, add a separate request for quiet rain and moving water. For a silent model, plan that sound in the editor. This is an adaptable prompt example, separate from the pinwheel prompts used above.

Keep the same intended action and starting material when trying another tool. Record the actual model, settings, cost, wait and download conditions; the tools' defaults may differ. Compare the whole result for shape, motion, unwanted objects, sound and usefulness in your project. One pair of clips can help you choose a look, but cannot establish a general quality ranking.

Fix the problem before spending the remaining balance

What happens
A useful next action
A face or object changes midway
Use a clearer reference, reduce the movement and inspect the difficult moment again
A simple color change rebuilds the scene
Treat it as a creative variation; use a conventional editor when the original must remain exact
The action is incomplete
Ask for fewer events or a supported longer duration after checking the cost
A model prompts for payment
Check whether the model is included and whether the request exceeds your available balance
Free video generation is temporarily unavailable
Check the service's queue, peak-hour or regional conditions before changing the brief
The file is silent
Confirm the selected model supports audio; add licensed narration, ambience or music separately if needed
A label or caption is wrong
Preserve the real product details and add required wording as editable text
The download has a watermark
Keep it, choose an export your plan permits or use a different eligible route
A horizontal clip crops badly on a phone
Plan a portrait composition rather than relying on an automatic crop of the finished shot

Use your allowance to answer one practical question at a time. More versions of an unsuitable brief will not fix a missing feature, incorrect source material or a commercial-use restriction.

Check the export and intended use

Before sharing, check the downloaded duration, file dimensions, visible branding and sound. A resolution shown in a menu is not the same as the file you have downloaded, and a high-resolution export can be an upscale of a smaller generation.

For a personal experiment, a short watermarked clip may be enough. For an advertisement, client project or monetized use, check current permission for the platform, plan, region, model and all inputs. Owning an output, downloading it and having commercial permission are separate questions. The free AI video commercial-use guide explains those decisions in more depth.

Use images, likenesses, voices, music and fonts you are allowed to use. Avoid uploading confidential material until you understand the service's handling of it. Keep mandatory claims and text accurate in the final edit, and review the complete exported video before publishing.

Frequently asked questions

Which free generator should I try first?

Start with Dreamina and a short scene that fits your available model and credits. Use a prepared image when the look matters, request a small movement and download a useful result before making the project more complex. A presenter workflow is a better fit when the main task is delivering an exact script.

Which options offer continuing free use?

Look at the daily or monthly routes in the comparison table and check their selected-model conditions. A recurring allowance is useful for gradual experimentation, but it can still limit output length, availability and exports. One-time trial credits and account promotions should be planned as finite opportunities.

Is free AI video generation unlimited?

Do not plan on unlimited hosted video generation without checking the exact offer. Credit balances, model access, queues, expiry and exports can all impose limits. For a longer finished video, combine short approved shots with your own footage and editing rather than asking one small allowance to create an entire film.

Can I get a free video without a watermark?

Check generation credits and export permission separately. Some plans offer watermark-free files but require payment for the credits that generate them. If you need a no-spend project, inspect both conditions before committing your time, and keep any branding required by the chosen plan.

Can free videos include sound?

Yes, when the selected model and Free access support it. Other outputs can be silent, like the pinwheel files above. Listen to the actual download for speech, effects and unwanted sound; add separately licensed audio in an editor where appropriate.

Can I use the result in an advertisement?

Only choose a route whose current terms permit your intended use, including the selected model and input assets. Do not assume a free account, a paid credit pack or a clean download grants that permission. When necessary, compare an eligible paid option before creating the final version.

Start small and keep the result you can use

Begin with Dreamina's Free entry, one clear visual and one action. Review the entire generation, save a useful version and make a focused revision. Use the alternatives above when their actual allowance or workflow better fits the next step.

The most useful free generator is the one that lets you finish an appropriate clip, understand its conditions and move it into your project without an unexpected purchase.
